Melissa CohenHi!

Thanks so much for stopping by! I'm so happy we connected!

My name is Melissa Cohen and I created this site "A Redefined YOU" because after years of chasing what I thought was the definition of success, I found myself unhappy, unfulfilled and un-motivated; consequently, I had to go through the process of redefining myself.

Let me share with you briefly how this happened...

I received my Master's Degree from Columbia University School of Social Work, an Advanced Certificate in Social Work from New York University and worked for many years in community organizations and private practice. I had been working hard and didn't really have the bank account to show for it so when I was asked to change careers and join a pharmaceutical sales force, I immediately jumped at the opportunity. This was my chance to change everything!

A New Me

This was an exciting time in my life! Learning new skills, having job security, an expense account, perks and fantastic salary. It was fun for a while, however, after a long successful run, I found myself realigned and without a job for the first time in my life. After a short vacation full of days weighing my options, I decided to start my social work practice again. Then after just a few months, I was lured back to pharmaceutical sales with the promise of stability and wealth. Within one year, I found myself realigned and without a job again. I couldn’t believe it. I had been laid off two times in three years and this didn't make sense to me. I was smart, motivated and truly wanted to work. Couldn't they see that? I guess they didn't, so I did what any sane person would do and gave it up completely. I had enough and decided it was once again time to redefine myself, my goals and my definition of success.

It turns out that helping others really is what I enjoy and what I am good at. As a social worker, I was always helping my clients figure out where they were at and then redefine where they wanted to be. I also became an Independent Educational Consultant and a Certified Professional Coach to reinforce my ability to help others as a life strategist.

Over the years, I have had to redefine myself and find the real me. It has been a struggle well-worth the effort many times over. I have had to let go of my insecurities and the need to be liked, accepted, and approved of by others. I have claimed my own sense of self, developed my own unique style and increased my self-esteem and confidence. I have learned that I can be comfortable with myself without being perfect and accept those flaws which make me special. I work on myself every day and understand that I am and always will be a work in progress. What I am today is not what I was before and I am proud of the new me.

So I have a question for you...

Are you ready to redefine and rediscover the real YOU!

What I've learned through my social work experience and life coaching is that we all have blinders on. That's why so many times we have "recurring patterns" in our lives whether it's in the area of relationships, jobs, health or wealth. As Einstein said, "You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created."

I'd love to speak with you about this. You can sign up by clicking above for my FREE Strategy Session and we'll talk about where you are, what's holding you back and where you want to go.

It was through this journey, to find my real purpose, that I discovered all of us have the ability to experience our own personal and professional breakthroughs. These events, in turn, will help each of us achieve a level of happiness and satisfaction beyond expectation.
